Everest Base Camp Trekking During December, January and February is another perfect season for an epic Himalayan journey. The tranquil Everest hiking path, the blue skies and undisturbed mountain view make this season special.

Typical Day Plan During Everest Base Camp Trek
During the Everest Base Camp Trekking, everyday sticked with a peaceful and joyful rhythm that combines scenic walking with sherpa culture. Every Morning normally start around 6: 30 AM, as hikers wake with fresh mountain air and blue skies. Mount Face Nepal team leader will offer warm and delicious mountain breakfast on hotel dining. Before breakfast, hiker should pack their duffle bag so that it makes easier our porter to tie up and be ready to start day. Remember to pack all essential items for the day in your daypack, as the porter will go directly to the next camp and you won’t able to access to your duffle bag until the evening.
Most of the time, our trekking will start around 7:30 AM. Early is always better to start. Every evening after dinner, our guide will give you safety instruction for next day. Please kindly follow their instruction for safer journey. Lunch will be in between at around noon. When we have group, we need to order in advance to save time of preparation. Otherwise, for small group can order after we reach lunch camp.
The hike will be maximum 7-8 hour including stoppage, for sure, it all depend how we walk and enjoy with nature. Once we reach camp, our team will provide room. Freshen up and come to dinning to have tea and some snacks. Explore around with our guide, order dinner has rest or play a local card game with our team. Since lots of people in one hotel, need to order dinner at least before an hour.
Every meal will serve by our team on your table, enjoy it but wasting is very painful. After completed, will have team discussion about walk and plan for tomorrow. Team leader will brief about tomorrow’s plan and he will again talk about safety instruction. Please follow it.
Our guide will tell where he will be at night for any kind of issue during the night. Make sure you have enough water for night.
Accommodation during Mount Everest Base Camp Trek.
Guided Everest base camp trek packages include basic lodging services with attached room for 3 nights with shared bed. The Basic Mountain lodges have neat and clean room with essential room amenities like bed, pillow, blanket. However, Lukla, Phakding, Namche, Tengboche and Dingboche have better accommodation facilities that can be upgraded on your demand.
Hotel at Labuche has room with attached toilet but limited. Booking in advance may able to hold for your adventure in Everest Region.
Guest house in Everest trail has cozy dining hall with heating system. Many hotels use wood or gas oven to keep dinning area warm. Most of the hotel, have oven to warm their dining area. Since they have minimum cost for room, it is expected that guest have their meals in-house rather than eating elsewhere.

Lukla Airport (Tenzing-Hillary Airport)2860m
Lukla Ariport,known as Tenzing-Hilary airport is the major gateway of Everest region trekking built in 1964 AD. By its short 527m runway, steep incline surrounding high terrain and unpredictable weather condition made it as a dangerous airport in the world.
However, it’s challenges, lukla airport is an important factor for Khumbu region, transporting thousands of hikers, guides, and supplies every season. The stunning flight from Kathmandu or Ramechhap to Lukla provides aerial views of the Himalayas and marks exciting beginning of the journey to Everest view trek.
Phakding Monastery
Approximately 8 KM walk from lukla takes you at Phakding; a small town enroute to Everest Base Camp which is also first town spending a night in Everest Base Camp Trek. If you have time you could explore around village and also can visit Phakding Monastery also known as Rimijung Monastery.
Just 30-40 min walk up you will reach the monastery that has great important for monastic people and peace lover. Passing through beautiful MANE wall, prayer flags and pine forest, beautifully set up monastery can be found which gives beautiful view down valley and can be seen beautiful mountain on clear weather. Meeting monk and having the meditation will be great experience for you during Everest Base Camp Trek. To Reach Monastery itself will be a good acclimatization to climb high next day. Hilary Bridge on Everest Base Camp Trek
There is numerous suspension bridge from Lukla to Namche bazar during Everest Trek. Out of them Hilary Suspension bridge is the final bridge to cross for putting your feet at Namchebazar located at Larche Dovan. After 30-40 walk from Jorsalle(Lunch place), you will see two bridges hanging and connecting two cliffs above the Dudhkoshi River. Surely, the lower and dying suspension bridge is original Hillary bridge named after the Sir,Admund Hilary. Instead of renovate that original Hillary Bridge, Government decided to build a new bridge above of it and original Hillary bridge let be as an open museum without an entrance ticket.
Namche and Chaurikharka village development committee started to build the 113 m long new bridge on 21 April 2011 and completed on 31 July,2013. Locally this bridge named as “Shree Larche Dovan Jholunge Pul”. While crossing the bridge, you can see Mt. Tabuche 6496m and Cholatse 6440m on your right where as can see dramatic view of valley including Dudhkoshi River. After 15-20 min walk from the bridge you can see the first view of Mt. Everest as well.

Namchebazar (3,440m)
Namchebazar is the vibrant center of the Everest Region located at 3,440m from sea level surrounded by snow topped mountain. Once it was a historic business center for Khumbu Valley, it’s now a bustling mountain town providing every need for locals and tourists.

Tengboche Monastery is the largest Tibetan Buddhist Monastery of Khumbu Valley located in Tengboche Village of Nepal. It is also known as Dawa Choling Gompa which is situated at 3867m. This monastery is exactly 9 KM far north from Namchebazar which takes approximately 7-8 hour walk to reach from Namche.Remember that before you reach Tengboche you hace to face one of tough and long uphill climb in this Everest base camp trekking route.
The strongly connected with Rongbuk Monastery in Tibet was built by Lama Gulu in 1916 AD for the first time however it was destroyed couple of time. Pangboche village is a historic Sherpa settlement located at an altitude of 3,985 meters (13,074 feet) in the Everest region of Nepal. Thukla Pass: An Alpinist Memorial Monuments
After 2–3-hour gentle ascends from Dingboche, you will reach at Thukla. Thukla is only a food point in between Dingboche and Labuche where most of trekkers have their lunch and climb acute uphill to reach Thukla Pass. You may feel difficult in this part of Everest Base Camp route but if you keep going on you can make it this part with in one and half hour walk. Once your step touches the top of Thukla pass at altitude of 4800m from sea label, you will notice the hundreds of memorials of climber and sherpa who lost their life during expedition of different mountain in Khumbu valley including Mt.Everest.

He was a great personal with great heart and responsible climbing guide. During that expedition, he came down to basecamp from Cam II with ill Dale Cruise and get back to camp II to re -join his team. He took his last breath nearby to Southeast ridge balcony while descending down from very late summit at 3:45PM. He able to save Dale Cruise but not able to protect himself.
Thukla pass Alpinist memorial park also hold the memorial monument of great climber Babu Chiri Sherpa who died in Everest on April 25.
Reading all of those inscriptions mentioned in each memorial stone and taking photo of all memo of great alpinist provide tremendous feeling about mountain life. Labuche Village
village is a small, high-altitude settlement located at 4,949 meters (16,210 feet) near Mount Everest in the Khumbu region of Nepal. It is surrounded by peaks like Makalu, Cho Oyr and Nuptse offering breathtaking views where village feels like gateway to the high Himalayas. Although it offers only basic teahouse accommodation with limited amenities, the sense of being so close to Everest makes the experience incredibly rewarding. Kalapathar literally means black rock. This whole word has two sub word Kala and Patthar means Black and Rock respectively. The top of Kalapathar is 1.5 KM ascend from Gorakshep and takes 2 hours to climb. Trekker start early in the morning to catch the sunrise view however if weather is perfect sunset view is spectacular from top of Kalapathar. Another note able things is Mount. Everest Webcam set up in Kalapathar which is also known as highest altitude webcam in the world. For the first time it was installed by Italian scientist as part of NAST piramid observatory project to collect data from summit of Everest and surroundings. The main aim of putting webcam on top of Kalapathar is to analysis the influence of climate change.

The total distance you hike during Everest Base Camp trek is determined from where you begin your high Himalaya adventure. If trekker start and end your adventure in Tenzing Hilary Airport, Lukla, the total trekking distance is closely 123.5 kilometers (about 77 miles).
However, mobile trekking apps and GPS devices may record longer distance, around 130 kilometers. Slightly changes of distance that recorded in different device depend on individual routes and waling style.
