Activities : Our first day begins with a scenic 1-1.5-hour drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, the popular trekking starting point of the Chisapani Nagarkot trek and the gateway of Shivapuri National Park. The trek starts with a stone paved steps beside a water pipeline before entering the dense oak and rhododendron forests, the entrance of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park where entry permits are required. After walking for half an hour lush rhododendron and oak forests will welcome you, which offers a cool and refreshing start to the trek.

We will continue towards Tamang Village called Mulkharka where you can enjoy your lunch. After having a short break, we will follow the route of scenic ridge with gentle ups and downs. By late afternoon we will arrive at Chisapani, where peaceful and incredible sunset views over Gauri Shankar, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa and other Himalayan peaks are waiting for us. We will spend our night at one of the Chisapani’s comfortable lodges while preparing for the next day.

Activities : After having a breakfast in Chisapani, we will start our day towards Nagarkot, walking through the quiet forests of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. This section of the Chisapani Nagarkot Trek offers a peaceful trail filled with birds’ song, lush rhododendron forests and occasional witness of Mongooses, porcupines, monkeys, deer and jungle cats.

The trail climbs towards Chauki Bhanjyang, where we will stop for a short break and lunch. Upon reaching Telkot, the trail continues through easy forests paths and stone paved stone leading to the historic Changunarayan Temple, oldest Hindu Temple of Nepal considered to be built in the 4th century AD. It is a UNESCO world heritage site known for its ancient art and Newari perfect craftsmanship. We will spend some time here exploring the temple area before driving back to Kathmandu which takes about 1-1.5 hours.
