Nepal has only one international airport that is Tribhuvan international airport in Kathmandu, the capital city. The tourists flying to Nepal are provided Visa on Arrival by the Immigration office at Tribhuvan International Airport under the Department of Immigration.
The ‘On Arrival’ visa procedure is very quick and simple. However, during peak tourist seasons you can find some queues. As long as you have passport size photos , you can get visa on arrival at TIA. A passport valid for at least six months is required.
Visas are valid for 15-30 or 90 days. Your total stay is counted from the day you arrive at the country. Visas received at the Entry or the exit points are ‘Tourists Visas’ with multiple Re-Entry Facilities. It can also be obtained on arrival from immigration authorities at all entry points. However if your purpose or duration of stay changes, the category of visa must be changed as per your purpose and length of stay in Nepal from Department of Immigration by providing required documents. Outside of Nepal, a visa can also be obtained from the nearest Nepalese Embassy or Diplomatic Mission.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
- A valid passport and one passport-size photograph with a light background.
- Visa can be obtained only through payment of cash in the following currency: Euro, Swiss, Franc, Pound Sterling, US Dollar, Australian Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar, Singapore Dollar, and Japanese Yen.
- Credit card, Indian currency, and Nepali Currency are not accepted as payment of the visa fee.

Visa Extension
- Tourist visa extension is done for minimum of 15 days at USD 45 and USD 3 per day for additional days.
- In the case of delay of less than 150 days, an additional late fee of USD 5 per day will be charged.

A. Diplomat Visa
This visa is for a person having a diplomatic passport from any country and they should have some diplomatic mission to be granted a diplomatic visa. It is also available to individuals considered eligible for the diplomatic privilges by Government of Nepal, and also to the family members of such person having a diplomatic passport.

This type of visa is issued to foreign national only after the recommendation from line agency, Labor Permit from the Department of Labor and work agreement from the ministry of of Home Affairs.

- 50USD/Month- Foreigners and their dependants working in organizations having contract between donor country and the Nepal Government and funded by the donor country

A marriage visa is granted to foriegners who is married to the Nepali citizen.
